TRANSNET
RACING exists as a platform to develop drivers and provide them with all the
necessary tools to succeed in motorsports. The team has operated in Atlanta,
Georgia since its inception in 1993.
The product
of a childhood dream belonging to its founder Alex Garcia. Transnet Racing was
launched and operated from his parent’s garage in Marietta, Georgia. The team
eventually settled into a purpose built 10,000 Sq Ft race shop in Morrow,
Georgia and went on to see competition in SCCA, USF2000, Toyota Atlantic
(Formula Atlantic), Late Model stock cars, ARCA, NASCAR Xfinity (Formerly
Bush/Nationwide).
By 2012,
Transnet Racing began to reduce its racing operations while maintaining some of
its former capabilities and race shop for the next 8 years but the team saw no
direct competition until 2022 when Juan Pablo Garcia, Alex’s son made his debut
in karting.
Today
Transnet focuses on competitive karting, with their drivers exclusively aboard
Margay Racing chassis manufactured in St. Louis, MO. Through the close
relationship with Margay, Transnet Racing established themselves as a front
running team in LO206 competition at Atlanta Motorsports Park.
In December
2023, Transnet Racing announced that it would expand the Margay relationship by
becoming a dealer for the manufacturer. Selling the complete line of karts and
parts to support current Margay customers, while also introducing new potential
customers to the brand.
Currently
operating out a shop in Canton, Georgia. The team fields entries in LO206 and
KA100 in the AMP (Atlanta Motorsports Park) Championships and plans to step up
to national competition in 2024.
